Lion Corporation (President: Sadayoshi Fujishige), jointly with Japan River Association (JRA), launched the "Japan Clean Water Foundation," as part of its LION Top Eco Project* in April 2008. Through the foundation, Lion has held a "Waterfront Painting Contest" under the theme of water environments, including rivers and lakes and other waterfronts, as a philanthropic campaign (campaign period: April 1, 2008 [Tue] to June 30, 2008 [Mon]) targeted at elementary school students and younger children. After stringent screening of the 3,568 drawings and paintings received, a Gold Prize winner, six Silver Prize winners and 14 Special Prize winners were selected. The prize winners were honored at an award ceremony held at the Dai-ichi Hotel Ryogoku in Tokyo on August 9, 2008 (Sat), where they received their prizes. The details of the prize winners and their prize-winning pieces will be announced on Lion's Web site (Japanese only) and newspapers.
