■Background and Purpose
The Lion Group has been providing products and services for oral healthcare based on research and development for 130 years. We have been working to achieve our purpose, “Make a difference in everyday lives by redesigning habits: ReDesign,” over these many years. One of the key themes of Lion’s medium-term management plan launched in 2025, Vision2030 2nd STAGE, is accelerating the growth of oral healthcare, and we are striving to create new oral healthcare habits among people from Japan and across Asia as a whole.
In line with this approach, the Lion Group has become a member of the President’s Circle, the highest rank for corporate members of the IADR. This will enable us to do the following: strengthen collaboration with global research networks; foster young researchers through the Lion Award;*3 and further collaborative research aimed at solving oral health issues with a focus on Asia. Going forward, the Lion Group will continue contributing to creating new oral healthcare habits and improving oral health across the globe.
*3 IADR Lion Dental Research Award: Recognizes young researchers engaged in behavioral, epidemiologic, health services, cariology, periodontology, oral health and other fields to support oral healthcare research

■About the IADR
The IADR was founded in the United States in 1920 and is the world’s largest academic association of dental, oral and craniofacial medicine professionals with approximately 11,000 members. The IADR is at the forefront of new scientific breakthroughs in global oral health through such means as holding the IADR General Session & Exhibition and its publication of the Journal of Dental Research.

Statement from Dr. Christopher H. Fox, CEO of the IADR

For many years, Lion has made significant contributions to the advancement of oral healthcare based on scientific evidence. By welcoming Lion as an IADR Corporate Member at the President’s Circle level, we anticipate that the global research community will be more strongly connected with innovative insights originating from Asia. Through our partnership with Lion and our individual members and other key stakeholders, the IADR will continue to drive dental, oral, and craniofacial research and to address the global challenge of reducing oral health disparities through research.
