Lion Launches LOOK Plus Bath Cleansing Silver Ion Plus Bath Detergent with a New and Improved Formula That Prevents Water Scale Deposits on Mirrors and Cleans the Entire Bathroom

Lion Corporation (Representative Director, President and Executive Officer: Masayuki Takemori) hereby announces that in August 2026 it will initiate the nationwide launch of LOOK Plus Bath Cleansing Silver Ion Plus bath detergent with a new and improved formula. In addition to delivering a scrub-free clean to bathtub surfaces, this new formula prevents water scale deposits^*1 on mirrors.

1. Objective of Introducing the New Product

Since the launch of LOOK Plus Bath Cleansing in 2018, eight consecutive years of continuous growth has resulted in a market for bath detergents that is 1.5 times larger. Moreover, intensifying demand for simpler, more streamlined cleaning has driven a near doubling in purchases of scrub-free bath detergents^*3 as of 2025 compared to 2019.
According to a Lion survey that examined how often different parts of the bathroom are cleaned, bathtubs are cleaned 4.6 times a week, with areas like floors (3.4 times a week) and mirrors (3.3 times a week) also receiving frequent attention.^*4 This suggests that the bathroom accounts for a significant proportion of the burden of household chores.
To help alleviate this burden, we are introducing LOOK Plus Bath Cleansing Silver Ion Plus, featuring an improved formula that prevents water scale deposits^*1 on mirrors, a frequent focus of cleaning efforts. Since the original product's launch, we have helped reduce the burden associated with scrubbing bathtubs. This latest improvement has resulted in a product that makes it even easier for consumers to clean the entire bathroom, including mirrors, by further reducing the effort required for everyday cleaning.

Water scale deposits on mirrors are the result of water droplets left to dry on the mirror’s surface. This new formula prevents water scale by making the mirror’s surface hydrophilic, allowing water to spread evenly across the surface and run off.

Test Conditions: A water stain adhesion test simulating one week of bathing was conducted on a mirror sprayed with LOOK Plus Bath Cleansing Silver Ion Plus and an untreated mirror.

On top of offering a scrub-free clean for the bathtub, the silver ion formula provides an antibacterial effect^*2, prevents pink slime^*1, combats black mold buildup on floors^*2 and deodorizes drains^*2
